Jamie

Co-Founder & Coach

M.Ed., BCBA, LABA   Certified Drums Alive Instructor  Jamie has been in the field of Special Education for over 14 years. She’s spent her career educating and supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), so that they can reach their fullest potential. For the past 8 years, she has been a member of the Pilgrim Area Collaborative staff and is currently a Coordinator for the Extended Services (PACES) program. Prior to that, Jamie served as the lead teacher of the ASD program at Chandler Elementary School in Duxbury, MA. Jamie’s dream of starting her own recreation facility for individuals with special needs came while volunteering, at Bridgewater State College (BSC), for the Children’s Physical Development Clinic (CPDC).

Kevin

Co-Founder & Coach

Certified Drums Alive Instructor Kevin is the co-founder of Abilities Rec, Inc. alongside his wife, Jamie.  Kevin spent the previous 20 years working for the Stop & Shop corporation.  His time there covered many roles and positions, from Produce Clerk, GM Manager, Meat/Seafood Specialist and his last 6 years as a Store Manager.  Looking for a lifestyle change and being able to spend more time with this family, Kevin and Jamie jumped at the opportunity to open an inclusive recreation center for children of all ages and all abilities.

Laura

Coach

Certified Drums Alive Instructor As a special education paraprofessional at the Pilgrim Area Collaborative for the past 10 years, Laura has gained a strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis and the use of positive behavior management strategies. She has also been in the health and fitness field for over 30 years, including as a YAbility instructor and former TopSoccer Coach.

Mackenzie

Coach

Mackenzie is currently a senior in high school and thrilled to be a part of Abilities Rec! She loves being active and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing field hockey and working with children. Post high school, Mackenzie plans to study Communication Disorders and eventually become a speech pathologist helping kids of all abilities! 

Hannah

Coach

Hannah is very excited to be a part of Abilities Rec. She recently graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education. Hannah loves working with kids, not only to help them to improve upon their fitness, but also to have fun! She currently trains clients at East Bridgewater Old Colony YMCA as well as Edify Fitness. Hannah also teaches boot camp/circuit training classes for kids and adults at Edify Fitness and Boston Mutual. Hannah also volunteered for TOPS soccer as a junior coach as well as a volunteer for Y-Ability.
